Chinese steamer Sennamhoi attacked by pirates
travelling as passengers near Kongmoon in West River
yesterday.
British chief officer H. Conway and two Indian
guards killed. Also two Indian guards severcly wounded.
Pirates about 15 in number, believed to be dis-
charged crew belonging to Kongmoon seamens union who had
threatened reprisals. They jumped overboard after feil-
ing to take the ship.
Kongmoon authorities appear to be taking vigorous
action. Six pirates killed and eleven suspects arrested-
I have requested Cant on government to take all possible
steps to capture criminals and deal with Kongmoon sea-
mens union. Senior Naval Officer is investigating on
the spot.
Repeated to Foreign Office No. 1 and Fongkong.
